چکیده

This paper presents EME, a low-cost solution for a highly modular multiprocessing hardware-software environment useful in designing autonomous mobile robots. High processing capabilities, the ability to interface a large number of sensors and actuators, extensibility, redundancy and exibility are issues addressed by this environment. An autonomous robot equipped with two cameras, one for line-following and the other for visual communication by light signals, is used to demonstrate EME capabilities and performances.

Evaluation of a Dual-Core SMP and AMP Architecture based on an Embedded Case Study

Typical telecom applications apply a planar architecture pattern based on the processing requirements of each subsystem. In a symmetric multiprocessing environment all applications share the same hardware resources. However, currently embedded hardware platforms are being designed with asymmetric multiprocessor architectures to improve separation and increase performance of noninterfering tasks...

Design and FPGA implementation of TDEA using Light Weight Processor based multiprocessing system

Multiprocessors have been widely used in modern high performance embedded system to meet the computational needs of smart, real time applications spread across multiple fields. While custom IPs (Intellectual Property) on FPGA based systems are commonly used, multiprocessing on FPGAs have not been explored enough due to concerns about meeting a right trade-off between area usage, achievable perf...

Advancing Software Development for a Multiprocessor System-on-Chip

A low-level language is the right tool to develop applications for some embedded systems. Notwithstanding, a high-level language provides a proper environment to develop the programming tools. The target device is a system-onchip consisting of an array of processors with only local communication. Applications include typical streaming applications for digital signal processing. We describe the ...
